Kicking it back in Naples, Florida, during these last few months isn’t too shabby with the stunning environment we’re blessed with! The shining sun, palm trees, and warm breeze are something us locals take for granted too easily. We’re here to crack open the finest hidden gems of the Southwest Florida area. All of these outdoor activities are perfect for doing while social distancing. Keep on reading for some of our favorite spots in the local area. 

Kayaking at CGT Kayaks, Inc.

What better way to spend a sunny day in SWFL than with a relaxing water excursion? CGT Kayaks Inc.is a fantastic place to rent kayaks and paddleboards from and is located directly in the heart of downtown Bonita Springs. We can confidently recommend this place knowing they’re taking social distancing seriously. They’ve moved rentals to a reservation-only system leaving customers confident and comfortable. This local business has excellent ratings and reviews and would be a perfect addition to your weekend plans.

Picnicking in Riverside Park

Grab the family and head over to the beautiful Riverside Park for a delicious and relaxing picnic! There is plenty of wide-open space for picnicking in the luscious grass underneath the shaded trees. You can even hang out by the river and watch for turtles, manatees, and fish on the dock! Pack a lunch and picnic blanket and enjoy this hidden gem of Bonita Springs.

Baker Park Walking Trails

A unique hidden gem of the Downtown Naples area is Baker Park! This park officially opened in October of 2019, but due to COVID19, it seems not too many locals know about this special spot in Naples. It’s wide open grassy area is perfect for basking in the sun, playing frisbee, or going for a jog. You can find long walking trails and places to sit and gaze while overlooking the gorgeous Gordon River.

Beach Walks In Naples

It’s impossible not to mention the abundance of beautiful beaches we have in the Naples area. A few of our favorites are Barefoot Beach Preserve ParkDelnor-Wiggins Pass State Park, and Lowdermilk Park. If you want to make a day trip out of it, perhaps check out South Marco Beach for Marco Island’s beautiful atmosphere. Their beaches tend to be a lot more spacious than those you find here in Naples and are definitely worth checking out. 

Rent A Bike at Big Momma’s Bicycles

The Gulf Shore area is a fantastic spot to ride bicycles. Ride your own or get the whole experience and rent a bike from Big Momma’s Bicycles. Take the scenic route along Seagate Drive and be sure to soak in the beauty around you as you pass some of Naples’s finest real estate and the stunning ocean views. You can even pause and enjoy the view at one of the many benches along the way overlooking the water. Pack a snack or book and enjoy this peaceful spot.

Fishing at The Naples Pier 

If you’re into fishing, you won’t want to miss fishing from the famous Naples Pier. This is one of the only areas that does not require a fishing license and will not fine you for fishing without one! Not a fisher? No worries; this is still a fantastic spot to walk along the boardwalk or sand and sightsee the beautiful Naples sea life. Get here early in the morning to catch a glimpse of the calm ocean and quiet atmosphere. 

Naples Botanical Gardens

If you haven’t yet toured the Naples Botanical Gardens, you are certainly in for a treat. The giant 170-acre garden features stunning plants from around the world. A few of the gardens you’ll be able to walk through are the Asian, Brazilian, and Caribbean gardens, to name a few. You can stop along the way and soak up the sun on one of their hammocks under the palm trees or take your camera and photograph the most beautiful scenery. This is truly a special spot in the Naples area.

Koreshan State Park

Koreshan State Park is not only known for its beauty, but it’s history as well. Walk through the park’s beautiful nature while learning about the history of the pioneer group that settled there in the year of 1893. This is an excellent place for a nice nature walk as well as photographing the nature and wildlife around you. There are lots to do at Koreshan State Park, from hiking to camping and fishing.
